Happy Birthday Moon Face(Phase)!!

It all starts with your pupil
That slowly grows like the free edge of the nail

Then comes the arch of your eye brow
That becomes your tragus when it grow

Fifth is the Grin on your face
That takes shape as the Ala of your nose

Next comes the Chin I seek
That reaches the stage of your Chubby Cheek

Halfway through is the top of your skull
That eventually looks like your Bosom I mull

What follows is the Head of humerus
That turns into your Patella which sounds humorous

The bulge becomes your Pregnant Tummy
That then takes the color of Sclera and looks funny

Last but one is your fertile egg that aced
That brings the finale of your bright face when Madhav first gazed!

What is the meaning of Thiruchendur and SenthilNathan?

I have been trying to find out the real meaning of my name for a while but I didn't get the exact meaning so far. I made up my mind to find out the real meaning Today and after exploring some Tamil websites and understanding the origin of this name, my thought process finally convinced my heart. Here is my understanding:

"Senthil Nathan" (செந்தில் நாதன்) is the name of Lord Muruga residing in "Thiruchendur" (திருசெந்தூர்).  "Thiruchendur" is the place where Lord Muruga killed the demon king named Soorapadma after a long fought battle. "Thiruchendur" has three words: "Thiru" + "Chendu" + "Oor".

Thiru (திரு) - Equivalent of English "Mr."
Chendu (செந்து) - Red
Oor (ஊர்) - Land/Place

Since an enormous quantity of Asura's blood was shed on this land, it became Red and hence the name "Chendur". Honorary prefix "Thiru" was added to pay respect to Lord Muruga.

Now, coming to the etymology of Senthil Nathan. As I mentioned before, Senthil Nathan is the name of the Lord living in Thiruchendur. Infact that is the literary meaning.

Senthil  - Chenduril (Red place) + vaazhum (living)
Nathan - It has its own etymology. Name ending with 'N' (ன்) denotes Male in Tamil. 'Naadam' (நாதம்) means Oli (ஒலி, sound). Male version of Naadam or Person/Lord responsible for sound is "Nathan". I have two explanations for this name.
 i) Lord Muruga is the one to explain the meaning of Pranava Manthiram (ஓம், Sound of "OM") to his Father, Lord Siva.
ii) One of the different names of Lord Muruga is "Tamil Kadavul" (தமிழ் கடவுள், Lord of Tamil Language).

Both explanations are related to "Sound" (ஒலி - Naadam) but the name "Nathan" should most probably be related to my first explanation. Hence the name "Nathan" refers to Lord Muruga.

Senthil Nathan - Lord of Sound/Lord Muruga living in Thiruchendur.

Hail Phoenix!

Hail in Scottsdale - 2/20/13
Visiting the blog after a long long time to jot down the amazing fact that there was a hail storm (almost snow)  in Scottsdale,AZ last evening (2/20/13). My rain fetish made me to drink a big mug of hot tea with a pinch of tea masala at around 10 PM and that keeps me going so far (It's 00:45. Don't know how long I am gonna be awake!).

Another fetish that is bothering me is Numbers. Today's date - 2/21/13 or 2/21/2013. Just a curious insight made me to sum the day/month/year numbers separately to get 2/3/4 or 2/3/6. I don't think I have to explain about 2/3/4. For 2/3/6, 2*3 = 6. Man, I see numbers everywhere and for everything.

Final fetish - Rhyme Time, to end the day (or night?). Reader's discretion advised.
Indians introduced "Nought" and "Knots" to balance positives and negatives. If you don't know what "Knots" I am referring to, refer this URL to understand the three knots - http://suravajhala.hubpages.com/hub/Hindu-marriage-secrets-behind-the-tradition

Signing off at 1:11 AM (Yet another fetish :-) )
